Senior Natural Catastrophe Analyst – London | £50,000–£75,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Permanent
A leading specialist insurer is seeking a Senior Natural Catastrophe Analyst to join their strategic, tech-forward exposure management team. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the business, offering the chance to influence group-level risk decisions and contribute to cutting-edge research on natural catastrophe risk.

The role: You’ll support the development and delivery of the company’s view of natural catastrophe risk, working on model validation, climate change research, scenario design, and regulatory reporting. You’ll also engage with underwriters, capital teams, and external stakeholders to ensure risk is well understood and managed.
What we’re looking for:
- 2+ years’ experience in the insurance market
- Familiarity with catastrophe modelling tools (e.g. Moody’s, Verisk)
- Strong communication skills and a critical, analytical mindset
- Coding aptitude (SQL, R, Python – not essential)
- A passion for natural hazard science
Bonus points for:
- Experience in capital modelling
- Advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in a relevant field
- Prior experience evaluating catastrophe models
