A high performing and forward-looking actuarial department are looking for a Senior Actuary to support the Deputy Chief Actuary in leading and maintaining the actuarial function. As a Senior Actuary, you will be responsible for overseeing actuarial modelling, reserving, pricing, and risk management initiatives, and contributing to the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain actuarial models related to reserving, pricing, and capital management.
- Provide senior-level input and analysis for financial reporting, business planning, and regulatory submissions.
- Support and mentor junior actuaries and analysts in technical and professional development.
- Contribute to the development of risk models and support internal risk assessments.
- Liaise with key stakeholders including underwriters, finance teams, and risk professionals to provide actuarial insight.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and professional standards.
Key Requirements:
- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant actuarial role, preferably in insurance or reinsurance.
- Proficient in actuarial software, statistical tools, and programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
- Comprehensive understanding of actuarial techniques and regulatory frameworks including Solvency II and IFRS 17.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non-specialist audiences.
- Excellent organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
