Gravitas Group are partnered with a leading Housing Association based in Manchester. They’re looking to hire a Rents and Service Charge Manager to lead a team and report into the Finance Manager
As the Rent and Service Charge Manager, you will be responsible for setting and overseeing the annual budget setting process and the issuing of rent and service charge notices to customers and setting and overseeing the monthly close down processes for rent and service charge accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the accurate and timely calculation and issuing of service charges, maintaining clear records, and providing support to tenants and leaseholders on related matters.
- Lead on annual rent setting and service charge budget process.
- Lead a team of 3 and report into the Finance Manager and Finance Director
- Examine, develop and implement strategies to improve the accuracy of billing.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures for service charge and leasehold management.
- Liaise with tenants and leaseholders to explain, advise and consult on service charge and leasehold issues.
- Work collaboratively with Heads of Service, Managers, Team Leaders and Housing Services colleagues to enhance service standards.
- Ensure that Tenant Service Charge and Leasehold Services operate in line with up-to-date legislation.
- Provide expert and specialist advice on all service charges and leasehold matter.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of Rents & Service Charge experience in a Local Authority or Social Housing environment
- Proficient Excel Skills
- Open Accounts experience is desirable but not essential.
- Working towards an Accounting qualification - AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA is desirable but not essential.
