Senior Software Engineer
Location: London - Hybrid
Salary: £85,000 to £95,000 DOE
Contract Type: Permanent Full Time
A leading organisation in the financial technology sector is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants real ownership, technical influence and the chance to build high scale backend systems used by millions of customers. This is a hands on backend engineering role where performance, resilience and clean architecture matter. You will build and enhance core backend services in C# and NET, drive long term platform improvements and work closely with cross functional teams to deliver high impact features end to end. The environment is fast paced, collaborative and ideal for engineers with experience in fintech, payments or other high volume transactional domains.
What You Will Be Doing
Engineering performant backend services in C# and NET.
Building and scaling REST APIs using Entity Framework MediatR and Hangfire.
Collaborating with engineering product QA and UX teams.
Owning delivery from design through deployment using continuous delivery.
Contributing to architectural decisions and engineering improvements.
Supporting live services and following incident processes when required.
Sharing knowledge and mentoring others within the team.
What We Are Looking For
Strong commercial experience in C# and NET.
Solid understanding of backend systems distributed architectures and REST APIs.
Cloud experience with Azure or AWS or GCP.
Good knowledge of GitHub and CI CD workflows.
Clear communicator who works well in cross functional teams.
Self driven engineer with strong problem solving skills and ownership mindset.
Fintech banking payments or high volume transactional experience is highly desirable.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
Desirable Skills
Experience with Blazor React or Angular.
Familiarity with Azure services including App Services Service Bus Event Hub CosmosDB SQL Server.
Terraform or infrastructure as code experience.
Understanding of observability and Datadog.
Regulated industry experience.
Interest in distributed systems and resilience engineering.
Long term ownership experience where you delivered real product outcomes.
