Overview

We are seeking an Analytics Engineer to design, build, and maintain trusted analytical datasets that enable clear, consistent reporting and insight for a range of clients. You will sit between data engineering and analytics, owning transformation logic, data modelling, and data quality so that stakeholders can self-serve confidently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines, transforming raw data into curated analytical models.
  • Build dimensional and/or wider analytical models (e.g., star schemas) to support BI and operational reporting.
  • Implement robust testing, documentation, and version control for analytics code and datasets.
  • Partner with consultants, analysts, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into well-defined metrics and data products.
  • Ensure data quality through monitoring, anomaly detection, and root-cause investigation.
  • Optimise performance and cost across warehouses and transformation workloads.
  • Support dashboarding and semantic layers where required, ensuring consistent definitions and governance.
  • Contribute to best practice, reusable patterns, and internal accelerators across multiple client engagements.

Essential Requirements

  • Commercial experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or BI engineering.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with data modelling for analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with a modern cloud data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Azure Synapse).
  • Experience with transformation tooling (e.g., dbt or equivalent) and orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar).
  • Proficiency with Git-based version control and CI/CD principles.
  • Understanding of data governance, lineage, and metric definitions.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a consultancy environment.

Desirable

  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and semantic modelling.
  • Python for data manipulation and automation.
  • Familiarity with privacy, security, and compliance considerations.
  • Consulting experience delivering to multiple clients and industries.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a quality-first mindset.
  • Ability to manage priorities across concurrent workstreams.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
