Job Title: Data Integration Engineer (Contract) - SC Clearance Required
Location: London based, (Hybrid)
Rate: £300 - £400 (Outside IR35)
Duration: 6 months (Initial), with potential extensions
Overview:
The Client is seeking an experienced Data Integration Engineer to support a secure, large-scale data environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for data discovery, interface design, and end-to-end integration between multiple systems using both traditional ETL tools and modern scripting methods.
This is a hands-on role requiring a strong command of SQL-based data movement, Powershell scripting, and working with REST APIs and connectors to ensure robust and secure data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and build data integration solutions using SSIS, T-SQL, and SQL to SQL transfers

Perform data discovery and interface mapping between internal and external data sources

Create and maintain custom scripts using Powershell for automation and file transfers (e.g., FTP/SFTP)

Integrate data via REST APIs, native and non-native connectors

Work in Azure environments to manage cloud-based pipelines and services

Ensure all integration processes meet security clearance and compliance requirements

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data movement strategies

Troubleshoot and optimise existing data pipelines for performance and reliability
Requirements:

Strong experience with ETL development, ideally using SSIS

Proficiency in SQL/T-SQL and building SQL-based integrations

Scripting skills in Powershell, especially for automating data transfers

Experience with REST APIs, including building or consuming data from API endpoints

Familiarity with data connectors and integration across varied technologies

Experience in cloud environments, preferably Azure

Must hold or be eligible for Security Clearance (SC)

Prior experience in secure or government environments a strong advantage

Comfortable working as a contractor in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
Nice to Have:
