AI Engineer

Role Overview:
This AI Engineer role involves evaluating and implementing cutting-edge AI technologies to solve complex business challenges within a fast-growing insurance company. You will develop, deploy, and maintain AI solutions, collaborate with various teams to integrate models into operational workflows, and stay at the forefront of AI research to apply relevant techniques in practical insurance applications.
Key Skills & Experience:
• PhD or Master’s degree in AI, Computer Science, Data Science, or related discipline
• Proven experience developing AI, LLM, and Machine Learning solutions
• Active engagement in keeping AI knowledge current
• Proficiency in Python programming
• Experience with frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Creative thinking and confident problem-solving abilities
• Strong discovery, analysis, and specification skills
• Collaborative team player
• Experience in or familiarity with the insurance sector (desirable but not essential)
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluating, selecting, and deploying advanced AI technologies to address business needs
• Designing, developing, and iterating on AI models and proofs-of-concept using a “fail fast, learn faster” approach
• Developing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining end-to-end AI solutions
• Enabling teams to effectively use Gemini Enterprise and Google Cloud Platform for AI applications
• Working closely with IT and business stakeholders to integrate AI models into operational workflows
• Staying current with AI research and translating emerging techniques into practical insurance solutions
• Championing AI-assisted coding tools to improve productivity and accelerate delivery
• Analyzing large, complex datasets to uncover opportunities and prepare data for training and validation
Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK
• Experience in AI, machine learning, or related fields
• Based in or willing to work in Greater Manchester
• Availability for a permanent position with a hybrid work environment (2–3 days on-site)
