Systems Administrator
Our client is a major European automotive group comprising two software-led businesses in the automotive sector—one B2C and one B2B. Role Overview:
The Systems Administrator will play a vital role in supporting IT operations, managing user lifecycle processes, device management, and SaaS tooling. This position serves as the first point of contact for IT support requests and incident resolution, ensuring smooth technical operations while paving the way for future DevOps responsibilities.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Some IT support, helpdesk, or sysadmin-adjacent experience (internships and apprenticeships accepted)
• Familiarity with Google Workspace, SSO principles, and device management
• Basic scripting ability (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Strong documentation and runbook writing skills
• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with non-technical staff
• Basic understanding of GDPR principles
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage user lifecycle activities including onboarding, offboarding, provisioning, and access control
• Handle device management such as laptop setup, MDM enrolment, and fleet security
• Provide first-line IT support, addressing requests and incidents promptly
• Manage SaaS tools, licenses, vendor relationships, and associated spend
• Conduct backups, verify recovery procedures, and document processes
• Deliver onboarding and systems training to new team members
• Support data compliance activities related to GDPR requests and retention policies
Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK and on-site availability in the required location
• Proven experience in IT support, helpdesk, or sysadmin-related roles
• Familiarity with Google Workspace and device management tools
• Basic scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Awareness of GDPR principles
• Availability to start on 23/06/2026 for a 2-week engagement
Nice to Have:
• Experience with AI tools for documentation, scripting, or support triage
• Exposure to cloud platforms, containers, or CI/CD pipelines
