We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FullStack Engineer with a passion for Climate Tech to join on an initial 12-month contract. This role is fully remote within the EU and offers a competitive daily rate of £400–£425, outside IR35.
As a Senior FullStack Engineer, you will work in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment focused on building scalable digital technologies that address real-world climate challenges. You will be part of a collaborative engineering team where you will take ownership of features from concept to implementation, contributing across the stack with an emphasis on backend development (80/20 backend/frontend split).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build and maintain robust backend services primarily in Node.js and TypeScript
- Develop and maintain frontend features using React to support user-facing applications
- Work with AWS infrastructure to deploy and manage scalable applications
- Optimise data storage and querying with SQL databases
- Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Product and Design
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance within the team
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js
- Strong working knowledge of React and frontend development practices
- Experience designing and delivering RESTful APIs
- Proficiency with AWS services and cloud architecture
- Excellent SQL skills and knowledge of relational databases
- Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Experience in delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely with a distributed team
- Eligibility to work in the EU with flexibility for remote working
