Senior Data Engineer

Role Overview:
The Senior Data Engineer will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing data solutions within the organisation’s cloud environment, mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to deliver scalable, AI-driven data workflows.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Strong Python programming skills
• Hands-on experience with Azure stack and cloud data lake platforms
• Familiarity with layered architectures such as medallion/bronze-silver-gold models (Azure Synapse, Databricks, or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• An AI-first approach and stakeholder engagement skills
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data platforms and layered architectures
• Manage and optimize Azure Synapse, Databricks, or equivalent tools
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
• Mentor and upskill junior and mid-level engineers
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data solutions and support business needs
• Integrate AI or LLM capabilities into data workflows and tooling
• Assist in migrating or re-platforming data estates as necessary
Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK
• Proven experience with Python and Azure data stack
• Experience working on hybrid environments and on-site settings
• Ability to start by 27/05/2026
• Previous experience in data migration or re-platforming is desirable
• Familiarity with Power BI is a plus
