Overview
Data Engineer required to support a finance transformation programme within a digital financial services business. Focus on modernising financial data systems and replacing manual processes with scalable, cloud-based solutions.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with finance stakeholders
- Design and deliver data integrations and data products
- Bring General Ledger into the central reporting repository
- Integrate a Treasury Management System into central data and automate accounting postings
- Build curated finance data marts for self-service reporting
- Enable near real-time reporting capability
- Operate as a proactive, autonomous contributor within a Scrum team
- Support experimentation with agentic AI tools (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT) for discovery and requirement definition
Requirements
Must-Have:
- Strong finance domain knowledge
- Extensive AWS data engineering experience
- Experience with cloud-native data platforms
- Python
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with D365 or similar ERP systems
- Experience using Claude / agentic AI in delivery
