Finance Data Engineer

Role Overview:
The Finance Data Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and delivering data integrations and products that support finance operations. Working closely with finance stakeholders, including accounting, treasury, and regulatory reporting teams, this position involves integrating core financial systems into a central reporting repository, automating postings, and enabling near real-time reporting capabilities. The role also involves supporting experimentation with cutting-edge AI tools to enhance data discovery and requirements setting.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Strong data engineering background
• Experience with AWS data architecture and pipelines
• Proficient in Python
• Solid finance domain knowledge, including accounting fundamentals, debits/credits, balance sheet, P&L, treasury, and regulatory reporting
• Experience working directly with finance stakeholders
• Finance ERP experience, especially with D365 Business Central
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with finance teams in accounting, treasury, and regulatory reporting to understand requirements
• Design and implement data integrations and data products
• Integrate Dynamics 365 Business Central (General Ledger) into the central reporting system
• Automate accounting postings by integrating Treasury Management Systems
• Develop curated finance data marts to facilitate self-service reporting
• Enable near real-time financial reporting
• Support experimentation with agentic AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) for discovery and requirement definition
Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK
• Proven experience in data engineering, ideally within financial services or banking sectors
• Experience with AWS data architecture and pipelines
• Strong Python skills
• Solid understanding of finance domain concepts and ERP systems (preferably D365 Business Central)
• Ability to work onsite in London (hybrid – 2 days onsite)
• Flexibility to start ASAP
