Contract: 2 months
Location: Hybrid — 1 day per week on-site in London
Day Rate: £500–£550 per day (Outside IR35)

Overview
We’re supporting a leading FinTech company that is looking for a Principal Frontend Engineer to lead key architectural and delivery work across a high-profile product. This role requires someone who can provide technical direction, ensure engineering excellence, and work closely with cross-functional teams to drive high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Lead frontend engineering across a Next.js / React / TypeScript codebase
- Set architectural standards and guide technical decision-making
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver new features
- Optimise for performance, accessibility, and reliability
- Mentor and support other engineers
- Improve tooling, workflows, and development processes
- Ensure compliance and robustness within a regulated FinTech environment
Requirements
- Extensive experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
- Proven experience operating at Principal or Lead Engineer level
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture and performance optimisation
- Experience in high-scale or regulated environments, ideally FinTech
- Ability to influence technical direction and support wider engineering teams
- Comfortable working one day per week on site in London
