We are seeking an experienced NEC Developer to contribute to the delivery of software development projects in the housing sector. This is a contract position offering a daily rate of £500, operating outside IR35, and fully remote for a duration of three months. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the NEC (Northgate) Housing system and significant experience in software development within the housing industry.

As a NEC Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing, and implementation of enhancements and integrations to the NEC system. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective and scalable solutions, ensuring software changes and developments align with strategic objectives and compliance standards in the housing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, customise, and support NEC Housing applications and modules
  • Design and implement software fixes, enhancements, and system integrations
  • Perform code reviews and test solutions for performance, functionality, and reliability
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers to resolve technical issues
  • Document development processes, technical specifications, and system configurations

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in NEC Housing development and configuration
  • Strong technical knowledge of NEC Risk Management
  • Experience working with SQL Server databases, reporting tools and SQL scripting
  • Ability to read and modify NEC system code and workflows
  • Solid understanding of the housing domain including tenancy management, asset management, and housing regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with NEC system upgrades and migrations
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Exposure to third-party integration tools and APIs
