Graduate Risk Analyst

We are currently seeking a Graduate Risk Analyst to join our Risk Analytics and Data Science team in London. This role offers an exceptional entry point into the Lloyd’s market, providing exposure to advanced analytics, catastrophe modelling, and real-world risk management across multiple business classes. The successful candidate will work closely with underwriting, actuarial, and capital teams to support portfolio management and strategic decision-making through data analysis, model interpretation, and stakeholder communication. This position plays a vital role in enhancing our modelling workflows, supporting risk insights, and contributing to business growth and risk understanding within a dynamic and growing organization.
Role Overview:
The Graduate Risk Analyst supports exposure management and catastrophe modelling activities to inform underwriting and strategic decision-making. This role is integral to the wider team, providing analytical insights and assisting with risk assessment, model validation, and data-driven reports that support the company’s growth and risk management objectives.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Degree in Natural Hazards or a related discipline
• Strong analytical and numerical skills
• Confidence in communicating complex data insights
• Curiosity and motivation to develop a career in risk, analytics, or insurance
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze portfolio exposure data across multiple classes to support risk selection and underwriting processes
• Interpret and run catastrophe models (vendor and bespoke natcat and non-natcat) to evaluate potential losses and portfolio impact
• Support accumulation monitoring, stress, and scenario testing, including regulatory and internal exercises
• Contribute to model validation, data quality checks, and workflow improvements
• Work with large datasets to produce insights on underwriting performance, exposure trends, and risk drivers
• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for risk and underwriting teams
• Partner with underwriting to inform decision-making and support risk and business planning activities
• Assist in developing risk management and reporting materials for senior leadership and regulators
Requirements:
• Full right to work in the UK
• Relevant degree in Natural Hazards or related field
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (on-site and remote)
• Experience or interest in catastrophe modelling, data analysis, or risk management is desirable
