We are seeking an experienced ePMA Consultant to support the remote implementation and optimisation of Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (ePMA) system across an NHS setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in pharmacy or medicine to make a significant impact on digital transformation in clinical care.
 

The ideal candidate will have end-to-end experience in ePMA implementation, from initial planning through to go-live and post-implementation support. Your ability to translate complex technical language into clear, clinical terms will be crucial to engaging stakeholders such as pharmacists, nurses, doctors, and operations teams.
 

Location: Remote
Day Rate: £450 
Contract: 6 months
Start Date: ASAP (can wait up to 6 weeks for exceptional candidate)
IR35: Outside
 

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • System Design & Implementation: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, configure, and test ePMA system features such as order sets, care plans, and clinical pathways.
  • Technical Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for system issues, ensuring optimal performance, security, and clinical usability.
  • Training & Development: Develop and deliver tailored training programmes to clinical staff to enhance user adoption and safe practice..
  • Data Analysis & Improvement: Analyse prescribing and administration data to measure clinical outcomes, support audits, and deliver continuous service improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key interface between clinical users, IT teams, and project leaders to ensure seamless communication and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risks related to the use of the ePMA system, including data accuracy, clinical decision support, and user-reported issues.


Requirements:
 

  • Proven experience in the full lifecycle of ePMA implementation within an NHS environment.
  • Desirable background in pharmacy, medicine, or other relevant clinical field.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information for clinical audiences.
  • Experience with training development and delivery in clinical IT systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely.
