Data Quality Manager

A large social housing provider is actively building a new data team in the West Midlands, emphasizing a data quality-first approach over traditional governance. This organization values collaborative, stakeholder-focused environments and innovative ways to ensure data integrity and usability. The role involves using Data Quality metrics to demonstrate immediate value, alongside building a comprehensive data glossary and catalog. You will engage with multiple stakeholders through workshops to promote good data practices and tangible outcomes, helping to shape the future of the organization’s data landscape.

Role Overview:

The Data Quality Manager plays a key part in establishing and leading the new data team, focusing on improving data quality within the organization. This role involves shaping data processes, working closely with stakeholders, and implementing effective data governance strategies to support business objectives.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of Data Quality management practices
• Experience working with ERP ecosystems and tables
• Ability to use tools like Aperture from Experian (drag-and-drop logic)
• Stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience in building data glossaries and catalogs
• Proven ability to promote good data practices across teams

Key Responsibilities:

• Use Data Quality metrics to demonstrate business value immediately
• Build and maintain the data glossary and catalog
• Lead workshops to educate stakeholders on good data management practices
• Collaborate across 24 subdomains to improve data standards and quality
• Support the development and implementation of data governance strategies
• Assist in setting up a new data team and culture focused on data quality first

Requirements:

• Right to work in the UK
• Experience with Data Quality management, ideally within social housing or similar sectors
• Knowledge of ERP modules and data structure
• Willingness to work on-site at the West Midlands head office three times a week
• Proven stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have (Optional):

• Experience with Aperture from Experian or similar data tools
