We are excited to present a fantastic opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Data Developer to join a mission-driven, non-profit organisation based in Birmingham. This permanent position offers a hybrid working arrangement, with just one day per week required in the Birmingham office and the remainder of the time home-based. The role entails a 35-hour working week, structured over 9 days every fortnight, and comes with a salary of £60,000.
As a Senior Data Developer, you will play a critical role in maturing and enhancing the organisation’s data ecosystem. You will empower teams to produce high-quality, reliable data to meet business needs that are continuously evolving. Transforming technical strategy into practical, scalable solutions will be core to your responsibilities, ultimately helping to advance the organisation’s data maturity model.
Beyond technical delivery, you will be instrumental in shaping a high-performing data engineering team. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation through coaching and mentoring, and by introducing modern methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Key responsibilities include leading the design and implementation of data solutions using engineering best practices such as CI/CD, test automation, and infrastructure as code. You will also actively contribute to system architecture discussions, support cloud migrations, and work closely with stakeholders to define and fulfil requirements through impactful and forward-thinking data solutions.
Essential Skills:
Strong proficiency in SQL and Python programming
Experience managing deployments via CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services
Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming using .NET
Desirable Skills:
Experience in data modelling practices
Proven experience designing and developing robust ETL processes
Understanding of ASP.NET for back-end development
Familiarity with systems integration methodologies
