Project Manager – Inclusivity, Assessment & Reasonable Adjustments
FTC: 3 - 6 months initially, extension will be required
Salary: £48,000–£60,000 (negotiable)
Location: Largely remote (some on-site engagement during early stages)
This role has been created because fairness shouldn’t be optional.
Universities are being asked, rightly, to move beyond good intentions and into embedded, consistent, institution-wide practice when it comes to inclusivity, assessment and reasonable adjustments.
This role gives you the opportunity to turn regulatory requirements into meaningful change that directly improves students’ lived experience.
Following a detailed discovery phase, this university has identified a number of recommendations that need to be implemented across systems, policy, academic practice and culture. Funding is confirmed. Senior leadership is engaged. What’s needed now is someone who can lead the change.
Why this role matters
If you work in disability, student, academic services, wellbeing, student experience or inclusivity, you already know:
-
Reasonable adjustments only work when they are timely, understood and consistently applied
-
Systems, policies and academic practice often lag behind intent
-
Change is hardest where it matters most assessments, academic autonomy and long-standing processes
In this role, you will:
-
Ensure students with reasonable adjustment needs are supported as early as possible, not retrospectively
-
Help academic and professional staff understand why this change matters not just that it’s required
-
Embed inclusive practice so students are treated equitably, not exceptionally
This is about creating an environment where students with disabilities or additional needs can succeed on equal terms, without friction, delay or unnecessary advocacy.
Who this role is for
You don’t need to be a systems specialist, this is about people, practice and change.
You’re likely to be someone who has:
-
Experience in disability services, wellbeing, inclusivity, student support or related change work
-
Strong communication skills and the confidence to hold your ground diplomatically
-
Credibility with academics and senior stakeholders
-
Experience embedding change rather than just designing it
-
A calm, thoughtful approach to sensitive and sometimes emotive conversations
This is not about compliance for compliance’s sake.
It’s about fairness, dignity and student success.
Target Start Date: As soon as possible.
