PHP Developer (Fluent Spanish Speaking)
Our client is seeking a highly skilled PHP Developer to join a dynamic team on a permanent basis. Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial part in designing and developing backend architectures using modern PHP and Laravel frameworks. The successful candidate will build and maintain APIs, ensure code quality, and contribute to the continuous improvement of backend systems in a cross-functional team setting.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience with Laravel and PHP (experience with PHP 5 is desirable)
• Fluency in Spanish
• Strong understanding of modern PHP development practices
• Experience working with MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed systems using Docker
• Familiarity with PHP tooling such as Composer, PHPStan, and PHPMD
• Experience with clean architecture, DDD, refactoring legacy systems, SOLID principles, TDD, and CQRS
• Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB, Elastic)
• Experience with message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
• Strong unit testing skills
• AI proficiency, including experience working with AI development tools and AI agents
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures using modern frameworks and technologies
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and services connecting frontend applications, databases, and third-party systems
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable backend code following industry best practices and architectures
• Manage dependencies and tooling to ensure smooth development processes
• Design and maintain robust data models, business logic, and integrations with external APIs and services
• Ensure high-quality deliverables through comprehensive testing and debugging
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
• Participate in code reviews, optimize and refactor existing codebases for performance and scalability
• Continuously apply analytical thinking and a proactive mindset to solve complex technical challenges
Requirements:
• Minimum of 4+ years of modern PHP experience with extensive Laravel expertise in high-traffic environments
• Fluent in Spanish
• Experience with PHP tooling, dependency management, and database systems
• Knowledge of microservices, Docker, and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of architecture principles and refactoring legacy systems
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints with strong self-learning capabilities
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
