JIRA / Atlassian Specialist

Our client is seeking a JIRA / Atlassian Specialist for a short-term, remote contract to enhance an existing Jira Service Management (JSM) environment ahead of a UK go-live. The organisation values a collaborative and proactive culture, focused on continuous improvement and effective support operations. This role involves reviewing, diagnosing, and refining the current JSM setup by tightening processes, implementing automation, seeding a knowledge base, and delivering a Rovo (Atlassian AI) proof of concept. The successful candidate will contribute to a smooth transition and handover, ensuring the support system is robust and capable of ongoing development.

Role Overview:

This contract role focuses on reviewing and improving an existing JSM environment within a strict timeframe. It involves assessing the current setup, making targeted improvements, and delivering a clear handover to the internal team to support future maintenance and enhancements.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong, hands-on JSM administration experience in live support environments

• Proven experience reviewing and improving existing JSM instances

• Solid knowledge of Atlassian automation for support operations

• Experience structuring customer-facing knowledge bases

• Working familiarity with Rovo (Atlassian AI)

• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks quickly, and deliver within tight deadlines

Key Responsibilities:

• Audit the existing JSM setup and produce a prioritised gap analysis

• Agree and implement support process standards and triage model

• Improve workflows, SLAs, queues, and routing

• Build and validate at least three automation rules (triage, routing, acknowledgements)

• Set up and seed a structured knowledge base with at least five articles

• Configure and document one Rovo agent proof of concept for a defined use case

• Produce a comprehensive handover pack for ongoing internal support

Requirements:

• UK-based with the right to work

• Strong, hands-on JSM administration experience

• Proven ability to review and improve existing JSM environments

• Knowledge of Atlassian automation techniques

• Experience in structuring customer-facing knowledge bases

• Working familiarity with Rovo (Atlassian AI)

• Ability to work independently, prioritise efficiently, and deliver within a 2-4 week timeframe
