Business Analyst (Contract – Inside IR35)

Overview
We are supporting a Higher Education organisation that is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join on an interim basis. This role will support a major process improvement initiative, working across the organisation to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment of internal processes.
You will play a key role within the SPI programme, building on existing discovery and analysis work, and collaborating closely with business stakeholders to map, validate, and enhance current processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised, self‑driven and adaptable BA who is comfortable working independently while remaining highly people‑orientated.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on the SPI programme, utilising and building upon existing documentation and outputs
- Remap and validate current‑state and future‑state processes
- Engage with business stakeholders to understand how operational processes align to agreed frameworks
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement across processes
- Produce clear, concise documentation to support decision‑making and implementation
- Maintain strong communication across delivery teams while working autonomously
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Business Analyst within Higher Education
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of deliverables while maintaining excellent collaboration
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with a wide range of stakeholders at varying levels
Desirable Experience
- Experience working with Student Record Systems, ideally Banner
- Previous involvement in discovery‑focused programmes or large‑scale process review initiatives
