IT Manager
Location: Manchester
Salary: £75,000 – £90,000
Gravitas is partnered with a leading Manchester‑based property who are looking to continue investment into their technology estate so they are seeking an experienced IT Manager to take full ownership of IT operations across multiple offices and construction sites.
This is a hands‑on, multi‑site role, acting as the organisation’s key IT figure. You’ll manage day‑to‑day support, infrastructure, security and systems while working closely with senior leadership to ensure a stable, secure and reliable environment for 280 users.
Key Responsibilities
• Own daily IT operations across offices and construction sites
• Manage Microsoft 365, Windows devices, mobile hardware and endpoint security
• Provide 2nd/3rd line support and coordinate 1st line activity with internal staff and Cloud10
• Oversee server infrastructure, backups, networking, Wi‑Fi, VPN and connectivity
• Lead IT set‑ups for new construction sites and support site decommissions
• Administer key systems including finance (Sage / new ERP), SharePoint, A‑Site and plant/fleet platforms
• Manage assets, printers and vendor relationships
• Maintain clear documentation and provide practical guidance to staff
• Support technology improvements that deliver value without unnecessary complexity
Essential Skills
• Experience as an IT Manager, IT Lead or Senior Infrastructure Engineer
• Strong Microsoft 365 knowledge (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune)
• Good understanding of Windows OS, networking, firewalls, Wi‑Fi and VPN
• Experience managing servers, backups and DR processes
• Confident working with MSPs and managing SLAs
• Comfortable owning IT for multi‑site or field‑based environments
Desirable
• Exposure to construction, property or field‑based industries
• Experience with A‑Site or similar tools
• Knowledge of Sage, COINS or other ERP systems
• Familiarity with Power Apps / Power Automate
