The Head of Data contract is a vital role supporting the organisation’s data strategy during a period of maternity leave cover. The successful candidate will lead the data agenda, focusing on establishing data governance and delivering key objectives within the corporate plan.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Strong stakeholder and people skills, able to build buy-in for data governance
  • Proven data governance experience, including implementing data owner and data steward models
  • Experience establishing governance foundations and improving data quality
  • Ability to work in a Microsoft-first data environment
  • Experience with data classification, master data frameworks and data dictionaries
  • Housing or social-housing sector experience
  • GDPR, data protection and DSAR experience

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with STAIRS regulations
  • Experience supporting AI, analytics or data-maturity initiatives
  • Purview experience

Role Overview:
The Head of Data will lead the organisation’s data governance initiatives, focusing on establishing frameworks, internal buy-in, and data quality improvements. The role involves working closely with stakeholders in a hybrid environment, ensuring compliance and supporting strategic data projects. Success will be measured by the implementation of governance models and progress towards corporate data objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and implementation of data governance frameworks
  • Lead stakeholder engagements to promote data stewardship and data quality initiatives
  • Establish data classification and master data management practices
  • Deliver documentation such as data dictionaries and governance policies
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure GDPR compliance and manage DSAR processes
  • Support data maturity initiatives related to AI and analytics

  • Based on-site at the organisation’s location
  • Proven experience at a senior level with a focus on data governance and management
