DevOps Engineer

Our client is a forward-thinking company committed to fostering a collaborative and innovative work culture. They focus on building scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure solutions. This role involves developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for NextJS applications deployed with Kubernetes, playing a vital part in ensuring smooth and secure software delivery. Candidates in this position will have the opportunity to contribute to infrastructure architecture and work closely with development teams to drive automation and efficiency.

Role Overview:

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing deployment pipelines and runtime environments that support the company's core applications. The role is essential in optimizing the software delivery process from development to production, ensuring high availability and security.

Key Skills & Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps or a related field

• Strong understanding of AWS or GCP services and infrastructure management

• Experience with Bitbucket CI/CD build pipelines

• Knowledge of NextJS deployment to Kubernetes (Vercel understanding desirable)

• Proven experience managing complex environments and troubleshooting technical issues

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc) and git

• Shell scripting, Python, and automation tools knowledge

• Awareness of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Key Responsibilities:

• Understand and configure NextJS applications for deployment to Kubernetes

• Define build processes for dynamic environments like QA, including resource management and environment setup

• Establish release processes for promoting and rolling back code with minimal disruption

• Manage and optimize Postgres and object storage infrastructure

• Ensure compliance with AWS security policies and governance

• Debug and improve Bitbucket CI/CD pipelines

• Contribute to infrastructural architectural decisions

• Assist in writing and diagnosing CI/CD pipeline issues, preferably with Argo CD

• Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration

• Communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Requirements:

• Fluent in English, both written and verbal

• Located remotely within Spain time zones (UTC+1/ST, UTC+2/DST)

• Proven ability to work as part of a distributed team

• Effective communication, proactive attitude, and problem-solving skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
