An excellent opportunity to join a market-leading London Market Property team, working on an established and high-performing Canadian Delegated Authority portfolio.
We are looking for either an experienced Underwriter or a strong Assistant Underwriter with Delegated Property experience who can step into a long-term maternity cover contract of 16–18 months.
The initial focus will be on the renewal and management of an established Canadian Binder portfolio, working closely with senior Class Underwriters across pricing, risk selection, contract reviews and portfolio management. There is also scope to gain exposure to and support the US Binder account as the year progresses.
This could be particularly attractive to an Assistant Underwriter who has developed strong technical Delegated Authority experience and is ready to gain greater underwriting exposure within a leading team. Equally, we would be interested in experienced Underwriters who can quickly add value to the portfolio.
Candidates with relevant US Delegated Property experience are also encouraged to apply.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
  • Reviewing, analysing and pricing upcoming Binder renewals
  • Supporting and participating in renewal discussions with London brokers and Coverholders
  • Reviewing contracts, wordings and risk-level data
  • Working with RMS modelling output and pre-pricing analysis
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, including rate movement, CAT loads and EPI
  • Preparing detailed underwriting and peer review information
  • Supporting senior Class Underwriters with portfolio management and risk selection
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across brokers, Coverholders and other key stakeholders
We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience within Canadian and/or US Delegated Property and a good understanding of Binder business, wordings, pricing and the Delegated Authority process.
You do not necessarily need to already hold full underwriting authority, strong Assistant Underwriters with the right technical foundation will be considered as well as Catastrophe Analysts who have had exposure to Underwriting.
Due to the nature of the contract, availability is important. Candidates must be immediately available or able to start on no more than one month’s notice. A competitive completion bonus is also available for someone who completes the full contract.
