We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to support a large-scale digital transformation within the logistics sector. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a Microsoft Fabric Proof of Concept (POC) as part of a wider strategic programme aimed at modernising data infrastructure and enhancing real-time analytics capabilities.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing and implementing scalable data architectures, optimising data flow and collection processes, and ensuring alignment with business objectives. You'll need to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, offering expertise across modern data platforms and cloud technologies.
This contract role is offered outside IR35, with a competitive daily rate of up to £750 per day. The position allows for remote work with just one on-site presence required every two weeks in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop enterprise-grade data architecture and integration solutions.
- Lead the implementation of a Microsoft Fabric Proof of Concept (POC), providing technical guidance and strategic input.
- Define data modelling standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers, analysts and business stakeholders to establish streamlined data pipelines.
- Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy and security standards.
- Support legacy data migrations and contribute to the development of cloud data platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in Data Architecture, ideally within the logistics or supply chain domain.
- Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric and related Azure technologies.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and real-time data streaming.
- Sound understanding of data governance and MDM principles.
- Experience designing and deploying solutions in cloud environments, particularly within Azure.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices in a data context.
