Overview

We are seeking an experienced and self-driven contractor to support a critical cloud migration project. This role requires a seasoned Application Support Engineer with a strong background in leading application transitions from Data Centre environments to Jira and Confluence Cloud. The successful candidate will contribute throughout the full lifecycle of the migration, including auditing existing environments, planning and execution, user engagement, and post-migration support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits of Jira and Confluence environments to analyse projects, boards, filters, custom fields, and dashboards.
  • Create and execute detailed test plans to validate data integrity and technical performance following migration.
  • Coordinate rollout activities for a user base exceeding 500, ensuring effective change management.
  • Lead structured data migration from Atlassian Data Centre to Cloud using industry best practices.
  • Develop and enforce governance frameworks and policies to maintain consistency, security, and standardisation in tool usage.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging training sessions to end users while offering ongoing support to maximise adoption and effectiveness of the platform.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience administering, configuring, and implementing Jira and Confluence solutions within mid- to large-scale business environments.
  • Proven track record in successfully managing migration projects from Data Centre to Atlassian Cloud, including post-migration support.
  • In-depth technical understanding of both Jira/Confluence Data Centre and Cloud architecture, including user access, security permissions, and workflow configuration.
  • Experience in establishing enterprise-level governance policies for collaborative tools and managing user compliance.
  • Familiarity with data consolidation and cleansing techniques, with prior experience using SharePoint as part of wider integrations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to lead training, convey technical information clearly, and support users at all levels.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Atlassian Certified Professional credentials.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing Jira and Confluence projects within a Cloud infrastructure.
  • Certification as a Jira Service Management Administrator.
