Planning Analyst - Higher Education

East London | £44,000 to £50,000 | Hybrid, 2 days on site

Step into a influential analytics role at a defining moment for the University.

This is an opportunity to work at the centre of strategic decision-making, where your insight will influence how the University plans for student growth, investment and future performance. You will join a visible team whose work is relied on by senior leaders across Finance, Marketing and academic faculties.

The University is also at the start of a major data transformation, moving to Microsoft Fabric. For an ambitious analyst, this offers the chance to build sought-after experience across Power BI, SQL, Python, data engineering and data governance, while helping shape how a large, complex organisation uses data.

You will not be limited to producing reports. This role is for someone who wants to understand the bigger picture, challenge assumptions, connect the dots and turn data into insight that stakeholders can act on.

Why this role?

  • Build practical experience in Microsoft Fabric at an early-adopter organisation
  • Develop exposure to Power BI, SQL, Python, data engineering and governance
  • Work on high-profile analysis that informs senior decision-making
  • Gain broad stakeholder exposure across university planning, finance, recruitment and faculty operations
  • Join during a period of significant change
  • Take ownership early and build a career in strategic planning, BI and institutional performance

What will make you successful?

You will be analytically strong, commercially minded and naturally curious. You will care about data quality, spot when something does not look right, and be confident explaining insight to people who do not live in the data every day.

Advanced Excel is essential. Power BI, SQL, Python, Microsoft Fabric, Business Objects or Higher Education experience would be valuable, but the strongest fit will be someone with the attitude and aptitude to learn quickly, work independently and make data meaningful.

If you want a role that combines career development, genuine ownership and the opportunity to help build a modern data environment, this is one to explore.
