Gravitas Group are partnered exclusively with a leading UK Housing Association. Our client are looking to hire a Service Charge Contract Manager to join the team and report into the Head of Managing Agent Relationships.

As a Service Charge Contract Manager, you will be responsible for Building working relationships with Managing Agents and monitoring the service charge expenditure and compliance activity undertaken by Managing Agents (3rd party) ensuring fair, reasonable, and transparent charges for residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with managing agents and similar third parties to foster excellent working relationships, to ensure the interest of the residents are protected.
  • Ensure that landlords and their agents are delivering all services in accordance with the requirements of the lease, statute and all relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Service Charge Team Manager in checking the service charges levied by the managing agents to make sure their expenditure is in accordance with the lease and Landlord and Tenant Act rules.
  • As needed challenge on reasonableness and VFM for the services provided.
  • Support the Head of Managing Agent Relationships to deliver strategic and operational objectives with managing agents, delivering services to the mainstream housing stock.
  • Support colleagues across the organisation so they understand the various relationships with the managing agents.
  • Support the Head of Managing Agent Relationships in the collection of all or a sample of compliance records as needed.
  • Develop positive and collaborative relationships with managing agents and act as a point of contact to assist Managing Agents, when needed.
  • Monitor, manage and report on finance and safety compliance on buildings and estates controlled by third parties.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with areas under the jobholder’s control.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
  • Excellent understanding of leasehold block management in the private sector and working with managing agents.
  • A working knowledge of relevant legislation (i.e. S18-30 Landlord and Tenant Act 1985) RICS and TPI guidelines, regulations and procedures
  • TPI and or RICS or relevant experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues.
