Senior Data Engineer
Location: Stockport (Hybrid – 2-3 days onsite)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000
Benefits: Bonus up to 10%, Pension, 25 days holiday,
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking organisation and play a key role in shaping its data strategy. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Data Engineer who wants to progress into a Tech Lead role within the next couple of years.
You’ll work as part of a core data squad, supporting business-critical data platforms and contributing to strategic initiatives around data quality, governance, and building foundations for AI-driven insights. Expect exposure to a wide range of technologies and business areas, from finance and HR to engineering and operations.
What You’ll Do
- Design and maintain robust data models and pipelines.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, fostering best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand requirements and deliver strategic data solutions.
- Work closely with the Tech Lead and other squads to ensure smooth releases and integration.
Key Skills
- Data Modelling
- Python & SQL
- AWS / Redshift
- 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering
Nice to Have
- Airflow, Tableau, Power BI, Snowflake, Databricks
- Data governance / data quality tooling
- Degree preferred
- Atlassian / Jira, CI/CD, Terraform
