Portfolio Analyst – High‑Growth InsurTech
Location: London
Type: Permanent

A unique opportunity to shape the future of digital (re)insurance.
Are you excited by the idea of helping transform a $2tn global industry? Want to join a fast‑scaling InsurTech where your analytical expertise directly influences live commercial deals? This role offers the chance to be part of a business that is redefining how brokers and insurers connect, trade and analyse risk in a digital, data‑driven marketplace.
This company is a dynamic, high‑momentum InsurTech that has already onboarded dozens of major market participants and processed hundreds of millions in premium through its technology platform. With ambitious growth plans over the next two years, they are expanding their Insurance Analytics function – and are now looking for a confident, technically strong Portfolio Analyst to join the team.

Why this role is exciting
  • You’ll be front‑and‑centre in a business leading the industry’s digital shift.
  • You’ll shape how insurance portfolios are evaluated, priced and monitored on a cutting‑edge exchange platform.
  • You’ll work directly with brokers, carriers and commercial teams, influencing live deals.
  • You’ll combine portfolio and data analysis with commercial insight in a fast‑paced environment.
This is not a back‑office role. It is hands‑on, visible and impactful.

What you’ll do
As a Portfolio Analyst, you’ll play a key role in evaluating, structuring and tracking the portfolios that flow across the platform. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting technical reviews of broker facilities, delegated arrangements and smart consortiums.
  • Supporting actuarial pricing assessments and profitability analysis.
  • Producing the analytical components of broking submissions and deal structures.
  • Monitoring live deal performance, including rating levels, loss activity, portfolio mix and broker behaviour.
  • Leading structured quarterly reviews with participating carriers.
  • Surfacing actionable insights on broker placement and carrier engagement.
  • Working with third‑party data providers to improve analytical outputs.
  • Acting as a point of contact for underwriting, pricing and portfolio‑related technical queries.
  • Helping to build internal tools and capabilities that support real‑time deal monitoring and post‑event analysis.

About you
You’ll thrive in this role if you are analytically curious, commercially aware and excited about helping to modernise the (re)insurance market. You will likely bring:
  • Technical experience in the (re)insurance market, whether in actuarial pricing, reserving, portfolio management or exposure/cat modelling.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with a structured approach to problem solving.
  • Excellent Excel skills and familiarity with portfolio analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases such as Postgres, Snowflake or MS SQL.
  • Exposure to visualisation tools including Tableau, PowerBI or Metabase.
  • Some familiarity with catastrophe models or exposure analytics.
  • Bonus: programming skills in Python, VBA or .NET.
  • Clear communication skills – able to translate technical outputs into commercially relevant insights.
You should enjoy collaborating across teams, directly meeting with (Re)Insurers, taking initiative and navigating situations where there is no established methodology.

What you’ll get
  • The chance to join a high‑growth InsurTech at a pivotal moment in its journey.
  • The opportunity to directly influence underwriting and placement behaviours across the market.
  • Close collaboration with senior leaders across commercial, underwriting and data.
  • A modern, innovative environment where new ideas are encouraged.
  • A role designed to grow with you and offer increasing portfolio ownership.
