We are seeking an experienced React Native Engineer for an exciting 10-week sprint within the fintech sector. This is a fast-paced contract role requiring an immediate start, offering full EU remote work flexibility. The engagement is Outside IR35 and pays between £350–£400 per day, depending on experience.
As part of our agile and collaborative development team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality code and innovative mobile app solutions using React Native. You should be proficient in using the Expo framework and ideally have some familiarity with Gluestack, though this is not essential. Firebase experience is considered advantageous, particularly for real-time updates and scalable backend integration, but it is not a core requirement.
This role is ideal for a self-starter who can hit the ground running and contribute from day one. Finance sector experience is highly desirable and will give candidates a significant edge, though we welcome experienced React Native developers from other sectors as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build, test, and deploy mobile applications using React Native with Expo.
- Work alongside product and design teams to develop new features and improve existing functionality.
- Integrate third-party APIs and Firebase backends as needed.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Participate in sprint planning and daily stand-ups.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to ensure robust end-to-end solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Extensive experience with React Native and the Expo framework.
- Strong understanding of mobile application development principles.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Firebase services is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and documentation abilities.
- Prior experience in the finance or fintech sector is preferred.
