The Position
You will be a key player within a high-performing team, leading the development of Binding Authority and/or Open Market business and have genuine autonomy and support to shape your portfolio across the US and Canada.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Business Growth: Proactively originate and secure new opportunities across the US and Canadian markets through via your network and the companies as there will be plenty of leveraging opportunities
  • Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base. Understand their unique profiles and provide tailored, high value insurance solutions.
  • Expand and Build: Take full ownership of your book of business. Identify growth opportunities through new client acquisition, cross-selling, and upselling within your existing accounts.
  • Market Visibility: Represent the brokerage at industry leading conferences and across North America and beyond, positioning yourself and the firm as a go to market specialist.
  • Travel & Relationship Building: Travel regularly to meet clients and brokers, strengthen relationships, uncover new opportunities, and provide hands on service.
  • Placement: Lead negotiations with underwriters to secure terms, coverage, and pricing. Design and deliver competitive programmes for Open Market and /or Delegated Property business
  • Service Excellence: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client experience from placement through to renewals and claims, supported by a great operational platform.
  • Insight & Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in the North American property market.
Skills/Experience
  • A proven background in placing North American Property business into the Lloyd’s and London markets. Either as an established producer or a broker beginning to demonstrate strong business development ability and starting to see success
  • A strong broker and/or client network across the US and/or Canada, or the clear ability and ambition to build one.
  • Experience in Binding Authority and/or Open Market property business.
  • Commercial acumen, with a strategic mindset and appetite for portfolio growth.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • A self-starter mentality with the confidence to take ownership and drive results, supported by a collaborative and entrepreneurial team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently to North America and attend key conferences and industry events.
