Gravitas Group are partnered exclusively with a Local Authority based in the South London area. They’re looking to hire a Rents and Service Charge Manager to lead the Service Charge function, and report into the Head of Housing.
As the Rent and Service Charge Manager, you will be responsible for managing the service charge and rent setting across the leasehold, social and affordable rents portfolio, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. Responsible for managing a Rents & Service Charge Analyst and ensuring that high quality services are provided internally and externally.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the development and delivery of the annual plan in relation to rents and service charge calendar.
- Responsible for communicating rent and service charge reviews to customers and the organisation, establishing, and curating the processes for property administration and rent reviews.
- Provide operational expertise and advice for the delivery of the Leaseholder and Rent service, delivering exemplary services in compliance with relevant regulation and legislation including reporting.
- Lead on Section 20 statutory consultation processes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including the Rent standard and submission of data returns for the service and Freedom of Information Act requests.
- Be an effective member of the Housing Leadership Team, working collaboratively with the Head of Housing, Housing Needs Manager, Landlord Services Manager, Property Manager, Councilors, applicant and tenants on matters of service delivery.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience of Rents & Service Charge experience in a Local Authority or Social Housing environment
- Proficient Excel Skills
- Orchard Housing Systems or Agresso ERP systems experience is desirable but not essential.
- Working towards an Accounting qualification - AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA is desirable but not essential.
