We are currently partnering with a Higher Education organisation who are looking for a Financial Controller on an interim basis to support across accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee financial statements and ensure compliance.
- Manage and liaise with auditors; deliver successful audits.
- Take ownership of audit process and year-end close.
- Implement new accounting standards and processes:
- Higher Education SORP and Charity SORP.
- Revenue recognition.
- Lease accounting.
- Support transition and relieve CFO workload.
- Line management responsibilities within finance team.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant.
- Proven experience delivering audits and managing auditors.
- Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting.
- Ability to hit the ground running in a complex environment.
- Experience in Higher Education or Charity sector highly beneficial.
Desirable
- Familiarity with SORP frameworks and lease accounting.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
- Duration: 6 - 12 months
- Location: On-site (60% minimum)
- Start: ASAP in January
- IR35: Inside
- Rate: Circa. £550 DOE
