Data Engineer

Our client is a well-established organization dedicated to making a positive social impact through social housing. This role involves working within the technology team to develop and maintain data pipelines, models, and warehousing solutions that directly influence community betterment. The position is crucial for enhancing the organization’s data capabilities, enabling smarter decision-making and operational efficiency.

Role Overview:
The Data Engineer will be responsible for transforming raw source data into actionable insights by designing and implementing resilient data solutions. The role involves integrating new system feeds, optimizing data pipelines, and centralizing data storage, supporting the organization’s transformation into a data-led entity.

Key Skills & Experience:
• Advanced SQL skills, including writing and optimizing stored procedures
• Practical experience in building and managing automated ETL/ELT data pipelines
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles, such as Kimball and STAR schemas
• Experience working within Azure cloud environments to develop scalable infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:
• Own the end-to-end process from raw data ingestion to insights delivery
• Design, build, and manage automated data pipelines for efficiency and repeatability
• Integrate new system data feeds and maintain existing data flows
• Develop and maintain a centralized data warehouse aligned with best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions

Requirements:
• Right to work in the UK and able to work on-site
• Proven experience with SQL, ETL/ELT development, and data warehousing principles
• Experience working within Azure cloud environments
• Ability to work within a UK-based organization in a permanent role

Nice to Have (Optional):
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Power BI
• Experience working in Agile project environments
