Claims Handler – Financial Lines London, UK

Key Responsibilities
- Handle Financial Lines claims: Assess, adjust, and settle claims within authority, ensuring coverage is accurately interpreted and reserves are set appropriately.
- Organise claims files, current, and fully documented, with regular diary actions and updates.
- Ensure all claims are managed promptly, professionally, and with integrity, in line with internal guidelines and market best practices.
- Work closely with underwriting, finance, actuarial, and reinsurance teams as required.
- Identify and escalate large or complex losses, preparing the necessary reporting and maintaining clear communication with leadership.
- Liaise with brokers, policyholders, and external partners, representing the organisation with clarity and professionalism.
- Attend market meetings as needed and maintain accurate oversight of TPA/DCA reporting and payments.
- Ensure adherence to Lloyd’s minimum standards and all applicable regulatory requirements, including TCF principles.
- Commit to continued professional development through structured learning and hands-on experience.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ Financial Lines claims handling experience (or closely related casualty/specialty lines)
- Familiarity with London market systems
- Strong understanding of general insurance principles and London market practices
- Knowledge of FCA/PRA regulatory frameworks and Lloyd’s requirements
- Progress toward or interest in CII qualifications (or similar) is desirable
- A-Level or degree-level education (or equivalent)
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Proactive and disciplined approach to deadlines and workload management
