AI / Machine Learning Engineer

An established and growing consultancy is looking to strengthen its Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning capability with the addition of a Senior AI / Machine Learning Engineer.

This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who wants more than simply joining an established AI team. You’ll have the chance to play a key role in building and shaping the organisation’s AI capability, working across complex projects and helping develop solutions that can be taken directly into client environments.

The Role

You’ll work across a variety of AI and Machine Learning projects, taking complex business problems and identifying, building and implementing the most appropriate technical solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing advanced AI and Machine Learning solutions

• Building and implementing LLM and Generative AI applications

• Developing and training models for complex use cases

• Working with predictive modelling and Machine Learning techniques

• Taking models from development through to production

• Embedding AI/ML solutions into real-world business environments

• Solving complex technical and business problems

• Helping shape and develop the organisation's wider AI/ML capability

• Working across multiple projects and client environments

What We're Looking For

The priority for this position is strong hands-on AI and Machine Learning expertise rather than a generalist Data Science background.

You'll ideally have:

• Strong commercial experience within AI / Machine Learning

• Hands-on LLM / Generative AI experience

• Strong Python experience

• Experience developing and training complex ML models

• Predictive modelling / predictive Machine Learning experience

• Experience taking models into production environments

• Knowledge of MLOps and production ML practices

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

• The ability to take a business problem and independently determine the appropriate technical solution

A Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or a related discipline would be advantageous.

Previous consultancy, professional services or Big Four experience would also be beneficial, although technical AI expertise is the key priority.
