Technical Architect

Technical Architect Contract 

We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Architect to join a remote team working on a legacy debt improvement project for a non-for-profit organisation. This position plays a key role in a Legacy debt improvement project in phase 1. Phase 1 will be a discovery phase to identify, monitor legacy tech debt and develop a plan to remove upwards of 10% of all legacy debt. Phase 1 is focused on designing long term strategy, identifying and removing quick wins and building the foundation for future phases.  

Details:

• Rate: Circa. £450 per day
• IR35: Outside IR35
• Location: Remote
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 4 Months
• Working Pattern: 3 days per week

Essential Skills:

• Strong documentation skills - able to produce clear, structured, and interrogable records.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders.
• Familiarity with security software and legacy security risks.
• Ability to identify, manage, and propose solutions for legacy tech debt.
• Deep understanding of legacy and modern tech stacks.
• Comfortable working in a newly formed project team.
• Strong interpersonal skills - able to ask the right questions and get buy-in from others.
• Experience in medium-sized organizations with complex landscapes.
• Ability to communicate clearly and ask the right questions to drive progress

Desirable Skills:

• Charity sector experience
• Familiarity with both legacy and modern technologies
• Experience with security software and managing technical debt
• Prior work in small organisations
• Ability to extract insights from older systems and contribute to tech clean-up
