Job Opportunity: .NET Developer (C# / Angular / SQL)

Location: Barnsley – Rare visits to South Yorkshire office
Salary: £55,000
We’re working with a tech-driven business that’s looking for a talented .NET Developer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who can hit the ground running, contribute to clean, scalable code, and collaborate effectively within a mixed in-house/contractor team.
You’ll be working across a modern tech stack, delivering well-structured features and services, integrating new UI components and APIs, and supporting long-term technical evolution. The team values maintainability, peer reviews, and smart development practices.
Ideal Experience
- Strong experience with C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC
- Frontend development using Angular and REST APIs
- Database skills: Entity Framework, SQL Server, T-SQL
- Solid understanding of Dependency Injection, Web API design, and SOLID principles
- Familiarity with Git (GitLab experience a bonus), and CI/CD tools like TeamCity or Octopus Deploy
- Bonus: Experience with microservices, Oracle/PL-SQL, Azure Service Bus, and using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) in development workflows
- Exposure to automated UI testing (e.g. Playwright, Selenium)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Rapidly understand existing systems and architectures
- Deliver clean, testable, and well-documented code
- Support integration of new UI components, APIs, and data layers
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Perform peer code reviews and contribute to solution design
- Champion best practices and scalable development patterns
