We are currently seeking a skilled Power BI Consultant with a strong background in the Housing IT industry to support our ongoing data and reporting transformation initiatives. This is a remote working contract role offering a daily rate of £500, with an initial duration of six months. The successful candidate will be expected to bring considerable expertise in Power BI development and demonstrate a clear understanding of how data visualisation and reporting can support key decision-making processes within the housing sector.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building end-to-end Power BI solutions, from data ingestion and modelling through to report creation and deployment. A deep understanding of DAX, data modelling techniques, and Power Query is essential. Previous experience working within the housing sector is a mandatory requirement, as familiarity with relevant data and reporting needs—such as housing management systems, asset data, repairs, rents and arrears—is critical to effectively contributing to the team.

The consultant will work closely with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements, interpret data needs, and translate them into insightful, interactive dashboards and reports. They will also be responsible for ensuring data is cleansed, well-structured, and optimised for reporting purposes. Additionally, experience with advanced analytics, report automation, and the integration of Power BI with other data sources—such as SQL databases, SharePoint, and Excel—is highly advantageous.

Excellent communication skills are required, as the consultant will be expected to deliver presentations to stakeholders, provide training where necessary, and produce documentation to support report usage and data interpretation. The ability to work autonomously in a remote environment is crucial, along with strong time management skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications in computer science, data analytics, or a related field would be beneficial, although demonstrable Power BI experience and practical application within housing may take precedence over formal education. Prior experience working in a consultancy capacity is desirable, as is an up-to-date understanding of data protection legislation and data governance best practices within the context of housing and social care data.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Power BI Consultant with housing experience to contribute to impactful projects in a fully remote capacity. If you have the required skills and are ready to hit the ground running, we invite you to apply and join a team dedicated to driving data-driven transformation in the housing sector.
