About the Role:

As part of continued expansion, the company is looking for an Underwriter to support their US & Canada Healthcare Team. In this role, the successful candidate will work closely with the team leader on all aspects of underwriting, including new business, renewals, responding to broker inquiries, and supporting business development. The position involves underwriting a range of healthcare-related liability products, with a focus on both traditional and digital healthcare providers.

This is a dynamic role where the Underwriter will play a key part in identifying and nurturing new business opportunities and building strong relationships with brokers. The role also includes the opportunity for international travel as needed to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting new and renewal healthcare business, ensuring high-quality and profitable outcomes.
  • Responding to broker queries and developing long-term relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Writing multiple classes of healthcare-related insurance, considering both traditional and digital healthcare providers.
  • Contributing to team projects and collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Actively seeking new business opportunities and supporting the growth of the healthcare business.
  • Traveling internationally as required to support business development efforts.

About You:

The ideal candidate will be a driven, self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to develop their expertise. They should bring at least 2-4 years of hands-on underwriting experience, preferably within healthcare or medical malpractice products. Experience in the US market is highly desirable.

The successful individual will need to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. A sales and service-focused approach is essential, along with confidence in engaging with customers over the phone and face-to-face. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick and effective decisions will be crucial for success in this role.
