We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fullstack Developer to join an AI startup in a pivotal "founding engineer" role. This is an opportunity to take significant ownership in a fast-paced, VC-backed pre-seed environment focused on meaningful, socially impactful innovation. Working directly with the core team, you'll be instrumental in developing and deploying AI-driven solutions that merge cutting-edge machine learning with accessible tools like WhatsApp messaging. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and deploy fullstack applications integrating modern AI models into real-world workflows
- Work collaboratively with product and technical teams to transform ideas into tangible features
- Maintain and refine APIs, particularly around communication platforms such as Twilio and WhatsApp
- Write clean, production-ready code in Python and JavaScript across both backend and frontend systems
- Contribute to both existing systems and new "greenfield" projects
- Identify and solve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and scale-related concerns
- Constantly explore AI tools and trends to keep the platform ahead of the curve
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant industry experience with prior startup exposure
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript; familiarity with frameworks such as FastAPI, Express.js, and React
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and webhook integrations
- Experience with Git and GitHub for collaborative development
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP (Cloud Run, App Engine)
- Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to rapid iterations
- Good understanding of databases (SQL and/or NoSQL)
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Experience with WhatsApp API, Twilio, or other messaging services
- Familiarity with AI frameworks such as Langchain, LangGraph, Autogen, or VertexAI
- Demonstrated ownership of full lifecycle projects
- Background in launching AI-based or LLM-integrated functionalities
- Personal or professional passion projects related to AI
